Bob & Evelyn Shea pose next to the new ministry center sign
On Sunday afternoon, June 6, nearly 100 people gathered at Pasadena Park Church of the Nazarene in Spokane to dedicate the Bob and Evelyn Shea Compassionate Ministry Center. On land donated by the local congregation, the district built a center to serve people near and far. Through the naming process, Bob and Evelyn were honored for their lives of compassionate engagement. Bob served as Northwest District NMI
NMI President Earl Carpenter
President from 1995 to 2004. He was elected to serve on the General NMI Council and lead the Northwest USA region from 2005 to 2009. But the major focus of their mission oriented lives has been with the people of Honduras. They have journeyed to this central American country countless times across the past 30 years to oversee work and witness projects, welcoming over 170 teams. They have maintained their home and local church membership in Cheney, Washington.
Rev. Dana Benscoter, Northwest District multi-cultural leader and a partner with the Shea's in Honduras, sent words of tribute that were read. District NMI President Earl Carpenter and Pastor Chad Wilks paid public tribute to the couple.
