The Northwest District Church of the NazareneThe Northwest District of the Church of the Nazarene is unique. Organized in December 1904, the Northwest District had already held four annual district assemblies before the Church of the Nazarene was officially organized in Pilot Point, Texas in 1908.

The original boundaries of Northwest District included churches in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. In its 15th district assembly (1919), the Northwest District reported 23 churches with 795 members. By the time the district had been in existence for 25 years it had been divided into five districts. In all, eight districts have been formed out of the original geographical boundaries.

Now, having entered the current millenium and celebrated our 100th birthday, close to 7,100 men, women, teens, boys and girls gather together for Sunday School in 72 churches each week and about 9350 come together for worship.

In April of 2008, our district family came together as ONE for the centennial of the Church of the Nazarene. Together we celebrated the men and women who for a century have led, sacrificed, built, sent, given, preached, loved and guided us to this day. We stand on the shoulders of our spiritual ancestors and celebrate the rich history that is ours as Nazarenes. As we look forward, we also celebrate adults, teens and children who make up the Church of the Nazarene today. We stand shoulder to shoulder with all who have joined us to make Christlike disciples in the nations.
